On 6 February, the World Alpine Skiing Championships began in the resorts of Méribel and Courchevel. VPI accompanied 100 professionals in 13 residences around the resorts and in Brides-les-Bains for a month.
Although the championships were held in France, the French did not shine and finished second to last in the rankings with only two medals won by Alexis Pinturault in the men’s combined (Gold) and super-G (Bronze) events. The Norwegian delegation, on the other hand, is flying high with a total of 8 medals (2 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze).
Since the winter of 2022, VPI has been working hard to inventory all possible types of accommodation, from hotels to private chalets, tourist residences, gîtes and furnished accommodation – both in the two resorts and in the valley. The ability to carry out on-the-ground reconnaissance and the specificities of mountain accommodation were paramount in the preparation of this event. This work of several months was a foretaste of what will await us in 2026 with the Winter Games in Cortina, Italy.
VPI has been developing expertise in mountain sports events for several years. After Pyong-Chang, Are, Cortina, Beijing and Méribel-Courchevel. The team is ready to accompany you on the Cortina 2026 Winter Games. NEWS
