The 2024 edition of the Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11 in the French capital and will welcome several million spectators. Indeed, the excitement of this event makes it a colossal challenge in terms of availability for hotels and transportation. To meet this influx, Paris has 80,600 rooms to accommodate the 9 million spectators expected. This unprecedented demand is putting considerable pressure on the hotel supply and leading to a significant increase in prices. For comparison, accommodation prices in Paris had increased by 56% during the EURO 2016. As for transportation, it will be in high demand with a target of 500,000 passengers per day. According to IDF Mobilité, “several million people will be transported in August 2024, which is equivalent to a peak day for an entire month, daily”. In addition, there are concerns related to transportation infrastructure. The EOLE project, which aims to connect Chelles to Mantes-la-Jolie, is underway, but will not be completed for the 2024 Olympic Games as will lines 16 and 17 to Le Bourget.
