For the first time in its history, the African continent will host the Road Cycling World Championships from September 21st to 28th, 2025. This event is the result of a promise made by David Lappartient upon his accession to the presidency of the UCI in 2017.

Kigali and the Rwandan Cycling Federation were chosen over the Moroccan city of Tangiers to entertain this global and historic event.

Kigali has been cultivating a growing passion for cycling for several years now. Nicknamed « the land of a thousand hills » Rwanda has the reputation of being a hilly region with peaks reaching up to 1000 meters. This makes it a favorite playground for climbers. This 92nd edition promises to provide a breathtaking spectacle.
