Grands Tours – A meticulous work for VPI

The Grand Tours, also known as the “Cycling Classics”, are the most prestigious events in professional cycling. They consist of three races: the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España.

– The Tour de France is the most famous and oldest race. It consists of 21 stages, which cover approximately 3,500 km over three weeks. The Tour de France is known for its steep climbs in the Alps and Pyrenees, as well as its sprints on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.

– The Giro d’Italia is also a very popular grand tour. It also consists of 21 stages, covering approximately 3,400 km over several weeks. The Giro is known for its difficult and mountainous courses, with stages in the Dolomites and the Italian Alps.

– The Vuelta a España is the youngest of the three. It consists of about 20 stages, covering about 3,300 km over three weeks. The Vuelta is known for its winding roads and fast descents, as well as for its rugged stages in the Spanish Pyrenees.

VPI has developed a logistical expertise in accompanying these major tours over the past 15 years. Our teams anticipate the different stages from one year to the next in order to secure accommodation and transport solutions on all stages.
